Andy Cohen, a super successful American Television
Executive is proudly Jewish and Gay. He even has a segment on his popular weeknight show “Watch What Happens Live” in which he acknowledges positive stories with his “Mazel of the Day.” Many audiences also know him as Executive Producer of one of the most successful series franchises in recent history, “The Real Housewives.”
In Israel, a show very similar to the Housewives is called Me’usharot, which roughly translates to “rich women” will be premiering. But after director Orna Ben Dor said she “loathes” the original series because of its tendency “to expose it all — without any hesitations” Bravo’s executive vice president of talent and development and Housewives whisperer Andy Cohen was quick to respond in a story from The Hollywood Reporter,
“Obviously if there wasn’t an American version, [Orna Ben Dor] wouldn’t be working on an Israeli version.” He added that “the great thing about the housewives is that people have an opinion about them one way or another. We don’t cast wallflowers.”
